Going to the Chapel

Things I've discovered since August (okay, let's be honest since April):

Planning a wedding is:
-stressful
-fun
-exciting
-tiring
-emotional
-joyful
-intimate

More than anything, planning a wedding is full of little blessings along the way.  It is a time in your life when you realize you are more loved than you ever thought possible (and I'm not just speaking of the love between the groom and bride-to-be).  Above all, the love that I have been amazed by the most, is the love of the Father, my Heavenly Father.   "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.  No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39.

Wedding planning has been an adventure!  The church and reception site were selected and reserved prior to the ring going on my finger!  We'll be getting married at Mayfield Road Baptist Church and will be having the reception at the Shearton in the Plaza on the Hill (pictured below):

We are very excited that my AWESOME parents agreed to this location as it was our favorite site in the area!  Our colors are going to be ivory, black, and some green accents! Here are some of my picture inspirations:

The next two pictures are from TheKnot.com:

For Centerpieces at the Reception (we will be using Ivory Flower stock, Green Coffee Berries, and Stars of Bethlehem)

We worked on some mock up centerpieces a couple of months ago but I do not have those pictures on this computer so I will save those pics for another post!  I think this has sufficiently updated the world on wedding planning.  We are currently working on ordering invitations, finishing up bridesmaids gifts, finishing flower girl dresses (being made by my future mother-in-law) and still asking people to be a part of our special day!

Coming soon:  I think I'm going to be introducing my wedding party through a series of posts with reasons why they are each so important to us!  We are blessed to have so many friends and family that care so much!

I'll leave you with another AMAZING engagement picture:
